Re: Estimate the needs

I'm going to try growing some pak choi this year, or as we call it here in the states bok choy. It think its a good idea to expand out and try something new every year in the garden.

Re: Food security = Seeds security

If someone did not yet have any onion seeds this is a fast way to get a collection going. If they are hybrid it won't be the exact same onion but its still better then nothing at all.

I'm glad I started seed saving years ago but I have a few weak spots in my seed bank that I am building up this year.

Home Heating and cooling with Solar

I originally was switching over to wood as a main heating source and using my gas furnace to fill in the gaps. I'm now looking to use 2 types of solar and keeping wood as a secondary source along with a gas furnace. I am going to be using solar thermal with some home made panels and also home made w...

Very cool project. I may have to try the same. I often clone tomatoes, and as they are in the same family as potatoes, this should work similarly. Thanks for the idea!
Come back and share what you learn. This is a work in progress for me.

interesting solution, but I assume it worked
It did, but next year it will be to big to do this again. My larger apricot had some damage on the blossoms but I think I will still get some fruit set, maybe lost 50%. Last year was a good crop. We canned 120 qts of apricot jam.

Re: What did you do to prepare today?

We had a bud killing frost last night so I wrapped the small apricot tree and put in some old C9 Christmas lights. I'm sure the neighbors where not surprised something weird to see in my yard(weekly occurrence) This tree has some amazing apricots, I'm not about to loose them this year. I had allot o...
