Learning Library For Children at Home - Preschool through 5th Grade https://www.education.com/resources/

"In this day and age, educational resources have moved online. Choose from a wide variety of interactive learning help, such as activity instructions, games, Guided Lessons, and good old-fashioned worksheets. Whether you're a parent, an after-school guide, or a homeschool teacher, our library of resources is sure to give you just what you need to make your student a star."

I have spent a few Montessori hours. I'm a firm believer in a broad topic education. In a grid down situation, short classes at home is both productive and keeps minds active and a busy mind and hands makes for happier children, and less stressed parents. My kids home schooled their own for a few years, using this source which has over 32,000 sources for interesting and useful learning topics in many different areas in both fun and work.

Mom often said, "Idle minds and restless hands, are the devil's workshop." It's so funny, a child starting a tantrum can be so quickly diverted. If all else fails, get down on the floor and have a tantrum with them until they start laughing at you. Kids do love to learn...

Keen III Winter Hiking & Trail Boots, lace up, waterproof, hiking, trails & climbing
Here is Keen mfg'r website...main page https://www.keenfootwear.com/blog/
They do promote & demand their suppliers have certified sustainable sources and are eco friendly company.

Men's Keen Revel III
https://www.keenfootwear.com/p/M-REVEL-III.html
Women's Keen Revel III https://www.keenfootwear.com/p/W-REVEL- ... ing_womens

I did not buy my Revel III pairs there, bought through Zappos. I'm heading into 4th year wearing only Keen shoes. They are well fitting & too comfortable.
My favorites are the "Newport" summer open sandals. They're for trails and water happy. This was my 3rd summer, wearing all day every day for 5 months a year.
They're made very well and last longer than any other make of hike/trail shoes I've ever worn.

Warmest indoor shoes I've found with a sole are Baffin, they're down filled and warm in frozen winter evenings.
They come in different colors & price ranges. I would like to get their hiking boots, but honestly, the price  I'll have to save.
Since 1979 - Baffin, made in the North - Ontario https://www.baffin.com/collections/winter

Raising Pigeons aka Squab for meat http://www.wildbirds.org/apidesay.htm

National Pigeon Association USA http://www.npausa.com/

2007 - NSW Sustainable Pigeon for food raising, 9 page DIY in PDF here - http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets ... aising.pdf
It gives a good amount of useful information, basic yet informative. Has medical issues, protein carbs & fat ratios for various food grains and more. Has some recipes, from roast, fried to Pigeon Pies.

How & Why Raise Pigeons via Backyard Chicken https://www.backyardchickens.com/thread ... ns.220069/
BYC has some good information.

Stromberg's Since 1921, Buy M & F Breeding Pigeon pair https://www.strombergschickens.com/category/Pigeons
Pfffftt, not cheap, 2 breeds of Utility breeders $100 & $75 a pair. Could do better if you know someone local.

Foy's, America's Oldest Pigeon & Chicken Supplies Pigeon breeding pair prices are same as Strombergs.
Online Catalogs, numerous! https://www.foyspigeonsupplies.com/foyscatalog.html

Pigeon Clubs, best listing by States https://www.foyspigeonsupplies.com/pigeonclubs.html

Joy of Cooking by Irma Rombauer A 1997 edition, used copy can be bought for about $7.00 incl shipping https://www.amazon.com/All-New-Purpose- ... 0684818702
Joy of Cooking, if there was only one cook book I could have, it would be this one. It is rightfully called the bible of cooking, and teaches how to cook anything and everything.
1980, I originally bought an older version at thrift shop to learn how to cook Beef Wellington :o

I had a good neighbor from Tehran who raised pigeons for racing hobby and for meat, back around 1980s. He had a large but simple chicken wire & wood framed 8' x 8' sheltered coop with about 30-40 pigeons on top of his woodshed in back yard. He was the one who got me to plant the potatoes in flower beds. He spent little money on grocery store foods. Those ways are being lost and we need to revive them for food independence.

WATER from AIR!
Water is the most important universal solvent to sustain life.
3 days without water, an adult will not survive. A small child, dehydrates much faster. Babies can dehydrate within hours.

Dehumidifiers harvest water from air!
There are some "new" technologies on the market that the costs to buy is out of reach for most people. Don't be fooled by these shady snapes
There is one blue system on the market for the home. However, the cost is about $5,500 and is about the size of a commercial can/bottle soda vending machine.

HOW does blue work?
1) Dehumidifier, harvests water from air.
2) Filtration system, gravity fed.

The 2 Limitations? 110VAC Power for Dehumidifier. Relative humidity in your area.
The higher the humidity, the more efficient the Dehumidifier will work.
Lower humidity? Less water can be harvested from air.

What can one do if water availability is of concern?
Buy a decent sized Dehumidifier. Save the water and put it through a Berkey type water filter system.
DIY your own lowered cost water filter system. Consider setting up alternative power.

Skills & benefactor of Sister Calista Roy's "Roy Model of Adaptation" teaching, where the most minute roles a human or animal ever holds in life are explored and analyzed. Roles are many.
