I don't really have an opening for this...except this is a huge category.

So I will just add a couple milk posts to start...

Elew, where do you get your raw dry almonds from? Thank you.

Hey Andy :) I just found these people on amazon... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BB ... HEXZM&th=1

And there are places like this one https://nuts.com/nuts/almonds/ ...they have a really good variety. Other than that I tend to grab some in the bulk section at the grocery store. Raw almonds only last about 6 months because they have a high oil content, unless they get stored in refrigeration...I am going to try to get some bulk now that it's colder out and keep them in a 2 gal gamma lid bucket in the storage cubby under the RV. I think it might be cold enough.

But I am always looking for one on one sources, where I can buy them or trade directly with someone who grows them.

There is a long standing controversy on soaking dried beans, nuts and some grains before preparing them. I learned from my grandmother, so always soak them first.

I found a great article here on the benefits of soaking, and reasons why we do... https://www.livestrong.com/article/3863 ... o-cooking/

Cool Andy! Let me know how it turns out...
You can use canned garbanzo beans, but it comes out better with fresh soaked beans.

And thanks on the blog...just trying to share things people might need to know. Are you on minds too?

It is very good. I made enough for ~4 days, 1.5 lbs dried & soaked garbanzos, having on crackers/celery/bread.
Me, cans? Nah. Slow cooker or pressure cooker.
You're welcome, Thanks is deserved.
No, not on minds, but I read there bout once a week for new things.
