Medical self care books

#1 Post by Henrysmom » Wed Feb 27, 2019 3:10 am

While cleaning up a bit today, I found a few books on medical self care. I am a retired nurse/nurse practitioner but I wanted to set aside some things for my family to use for when I am not here. I love “when there is no doctor” and “Survival medicine”. You might also want to include a book on herbalism or homeopathy as well. We can’t count on the internet so having hard copies is essential. Just a thought

Sorry I missed this post. I agree. In the past few months, out of my PDF files I've had printed out a number of exceptional topic books at LULU https://www.lulu.com/ Most were books out of print and no used copies available or at reasonable cost/shipping.
I've been very happy with their print services; cost varies depending on Q of your choices and also depends on the PDF format itself, like page size, A4 or A5 etc. As well as hard/soft cover, and font size.

Here is a book of interest to you. It is called "Survival & Austere Medicine: An Introduction".

http://www.lulu.com/shop/discussion-gro ... 09861.html . The book is also offered as hard cover, with a full color version as an option (though much more expensive).

pdf version available for free download : http://www.nnpg.net/stuff.shtml (Use the "click here to download your copy" link halfway down the page).

The book is published by the "Remote, Austere, Wilderness & Third World Medicine" discussion forum, of which I am a member and contributing author. We realize there has been a void in the subject of medical care when the grid goes down, and our goal is to provide sound medical information for the lay person, should the need arise. The book is offered free of charge, and the authors receive no compensation for book sales.

Hope this is of some value!
