GSM and SAD

#1 Post by Farside » Thu Jul 04, 2019 12:32 pm

So I was thinking about how during the GSM, galactic cosmic rays interacting with our atmosphere create clouds. And this cloud cover blocks heat...

I grew up in New Zealand - land of the long white cloud. There are a lot of heavily overcast days, and the city where I grew up is almost identical to Vancouver from a climate perspective.

I had never heard of SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), and living in a place where you can go 8 weeks without seeing the sun or blue sky is normal, I guess I'm acclimatized. But for people who live in a part of the world where direct sun and cloudless days are the norm, this type of weather can throw them into a depression regardless of the latitude.

We often discuss the climatic effects of the GSM and how it will impact our food supply, but there is also a mental health factor which is also worth considering.
