Record Temperatures in Europe

#1 Post by vanrompaey » Sat Jun 29, 2019 5:12 pm

Hello Friends, just curious if anyone had any ideas about the record high temps in Western Europe recently. I have been getting kicked in the nuts over this and was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how all this ties in with the GSM. Thank you and God Bless...

In the early years of the 1700's Europe experienced an incredible summer. It was a bumper crop in pretty much everything. There was rain, and heat. So much heat in fact that farmers were recorded to have died of heatstroke while out in their fields.

Then winter came early. So early that the crops hadn't reached maturity and the harvest was abandoned. Furthermore, the winter was long and harsh. Spring was late and wet. Millions died from famine.

The situation escalated so quickly that it boggles my mind.

This kind of thing is to be expected as the jetstream freaks out.

Other things to remember:

1. Current temperatures are often heavily polluted with urban heating effects. Many thermometers are at airports, where there are tons and tons of jet fuel being burned and releasing heat into the atmosphere, and lots of tarmac and concrete which also concentrates heat.

2. The historical record has been repeatedly 'adjusted' to make the past cooler than it was.

3. This is purely local weather, not 'climate'. Europe is a tiny fraction of the Earth's surface.

Globally, satellite measurements show June was cooler than 1998 and July was cooler than June.
