Weakening Magnetosphere and the Jetstream

#1 Post by Gdub2020 » Thu Oct 31, 2019 7:34 pm

Can anyone point me towards good articles or videos about how the weakening magnetic field causes the jetstreams to go out of flow and become extreme? Can't seem to find much but i figured the Ice Age Farmer gang would know. Thanks!

I've used your exact words and spelling of Q as key search terms:
"weakening magnetic field causes the jetstreams to go out of flow"
You now know how to do the same. Ask the Q of the internet.

Using those keywords are the 1st 4 Results in order:

Earth's Magnetic Field Is Weakening 10 Times Faster Now. "So, a field weakening over the American continent would mean that the flow in the outer core below America is slowing down.". The Swarm satellites not only pick up signals coming from the Earth's magnetic field, but also from its core, mantle, crust and oceans.

Earth's magnetic field is getting significantly weaker, the magnetic north pole is shifting at an accelerating pace, and scientists readily admit that a sudden pole shift could potentially cause "trillions of dollars" in damage. Today, most of us take the protection provided by Earth's magnetic field completely for granted.

Impact. In the presence of a strong magnetic field in line with the magnet's, the atoms will realign in the same direction, strengthening the magnet. Without a strong magnetic field to guide the atoms, they will realign in random directions, weakening the magnet. Most permanent magnets can hold up to being dropped a few times,...

Earth's Magnetism and Weather. First, is the reversal of upper troposphere equatorial winds, second, is the change from Zonal to Meridional Flow in the Jet Stream. This is achieved if you consider the atmosphere as a bellows that expands and contracts with increasing and decreasing Solar wind pressure.
