You will learn.
I finally got around to starting a garden. It isn’t pretty and it is not super-abundant. It’s a butt-load of work. But I am learning....
Learning is the key to success.
I did not have plans and I did not have materials. I made it up as I went. Cry all you want, I am doing something.
I used a mix of re-purposed and new materials. I tried different methods. I tried different “purchased soils.”
Here are some of my results:
1. Potatoes:
The attachment A3F0B5EF-E8E9-4681-9DF8-0015C2F3242C.jpeg is no longer available
Results: About five gallons of potatoes. A few big ones, most too small.
Thoughts: I won’t do this again. Next time I will use 18 gallon buckets and try the Ruth Stout Method.

Ok, I can only attach three photos so I will launch this and add replies. See you soon!!
2. Corn:

I tried dirt, 18 gl buckets and raised bed. By far the most productive was the dirt. The best tasting (but small) was the raised bed. I tried five different seeds in three different methods. From now on I will only plant corn in the dirt.

Ok, obviously I’m not DA-Man when it comes to posting on billboards...I’ll keep trying as long as the coffee holds out LOL.
Here are the potato photos:

Hmm, don’t know why photos are being inverted. Not going to try to fix it. If it bothers you, stand on your head hehe!

Tomatoes:
Tried in an 18 gallon bucket and a re-purposed metal cabinet I got for free. Added pre-fabbed trellises when they got bigger. Planted only two varieties, cherry and some small yellow thing. The neighbor lady loved the cherries. Begged me to have them. They were delicious!!!

I lost count so no more numbering...
Cucumbers: 18 gallon bucket, two seeds, seven cucumbers. Might have been crowded. I will plant two seeds and pull one next time.

Lettuce X2 varieties, parsley and something else...
Results very good. I planted too many seeds and did not cull them. Big mistake. All of the crowded plants were small. The uncrowded plants grew very well.
