After we had an upright freezer go kaput on us nearly a decade ago and we lost nearly 400 pounds of meat, we simply use the freezer as little as possible (we were able to save some of it by canning and making jerky, but not nearly fast enough before most of it was lost). This is why I go on a canning frenzy every time we get a deer, buy a cow/pig, butcher some birds (chickens, ducks, turkeys), or go fishing. Probably the best educational thing that could have happened, yet expensive. After my fridge stories, I chose to go over a year without one. Partner (annoyingly) just bought a 1.1 CF mini fridge. However, I still know how to make good food without relying on fridge. I believe your experience was a good learning tool. Washing vs not washing dishes was another long term experiment, which I did not die from
Not knowing how to do those things, can mean not surviving. On the flip side, do try.

Andy, don't forget that hard candy is also good for dropping blood glucose levels. This can happen in people who are not diabetic or hypoglycemic if they start working more than they are eating, until their bodies get used to the new normal. There's a valid medical reason for that type of metabolic issue.

Most of my week was dealing with insurance companies and arranging various companies to come out to the rental to get it fixed. A big fat time suck in (when doing that sort of donkeycratic mess, isn't it always?which I could have been doing much more valuable projects instead of driving back and forth 2 hours each way. However, in a way, this is a very valuable project since it is what will get us the land we so desperately desire... so I'll try to change my outlook.

My short smart list:
Am in the middle of a home security update, which I wasn't planning on doing but Dad, who is very smart & has good intuition likely based on the past, got the hankering so I'm dealing with it

Needless to say, the particular goals I set for this past week were not accomplished but other things were accomplished in their place so I won't call it a total loss lol Having dealt with long term immobility in the past, I'd see it as though you're doing just - FINE.

GOALS FOR THE COMING WEEK:
Celebrate the Corps' Birthday with a few hundred other area Marines HOOAH!

Get upstairs catwalk cleaned and organized and boxed where possible (half our library is up there)
We never thought of moving days when we carried a few thousand heavy books to the upstairs library. :D

Andy, you are soooo right on everything!
Honestly, I'm always glad when Dad gets a hankering cause hubs does not tell him he can't do anything .... me on the otherhand, he will argue with about it - doesn't necessarily win, but he argues  But Dad can do anything his little heart desires and hubs just sighs

Got another batch of meat done.
Partied til hubs had to come home to sleep ... nevermind that was getting up an hour and a half before him to pick up our grandson for the Veteran's Day Ceremony at his school :D Son-in-law told me this morning he didn't feel so well and that's what he got for partying with Marines
Attended two Veteran's Day Ceremonies - one with my grandson and one with my priest's middle daughter. Coincidentally, my son-in-law's own Brigadier General was the guest speaker at my grandson's Veteran's Day Ceremony.

Okay, I'm off to do some actual work today.

Moon Day in Mundania!

I'm still working on a LARGE project, it's an ongoing thing, a process, but it's nearly done unless I dream up new EL additions and I do.
Finishing up on the liquid tubing part, PEX & brass fittings. I could have finished today, but... Somehow I was short ONE fitting.
Hi hoe Hi hoe, off to Lowes I go! Manana!

Did some schematics for circuit & wiring, started a new light project, LSD -- light sensitive diodes that turns a fan circuit (or ?) on under sun light. It's kinda sorta complicated. Never bored.
Have to wait for LSD order  Got me to thinking about Dave McGowan, good guy!

I'd gotten my SPAM in 2 deliveries. 2nd one said delivered Saturday, it was not there. Reviewed my security cam footage = blank.
Spent 2 hours gathering the order info, phone #'s, did the proper emails, called the people.
Found out at the end of the day, it was placed in the main general box for large packages, not dropped at my door like the 1st box.
Lost time but music was great. Grrrrrrrrr!!!!

Taking inventory of pantry supplies, looking at needs. Making lists for next buy.

Keep an eye out for Civil Unrest & Riots starting on and after November 20th.

I'll be staying out of the way.
Got a lot done today on my smaller LED projects.
Carry on!

Wodin's Day
What did I do today?
I built a Library!
100% honesty
Prepping, baking, planning, listings, repairs to friend's wiring finished.

This week has been flying by!
Ordered parts for the pressure canner so haven't been canning. Parts arrived late yesterday so meat is in the canner yet again.
Been slowly working on filling the bio-reactors.
Acquired new breeding stock for my chicken flock.
Wowed my hygienist and dentist with my lack of plaque at my 6-month cleaning. The only thing I've done differently is soak my night guards in salt water during the day and don't rinse them off before putting them in at night. I started that a couple months before my last cleaning and it was stated that I had a considerably light amount of plaque. This time around, though, I'd been doing it the whole 6 months and she had to work to find anything to scrape off. We shall see how the next cleaning goes. If it goes this well again, then I may have found a way to keep teeth healthier for longer in times of trouble.
Have been continuing to work on the home security system. It's almost complete.
Continuing to downsize and completed transferring the upstairs office to the downstairs office (when I was in really bad health, I couldn't go up and down the stairs very well, hence we set up an office area in our bedroom for me to work from - my health is greatly improved now and it was well past time to marry these two offices into one again!).

I'm coding a program to right click on a BOT user name in Forums, small window opens, giving a choice to delete User and all their posts. The window also shows the title of their post and the first and last sentences of their post, making it a quick decision as to whether it's a BOT post or just general Forum Slider. After deletion, refresh the page and next BOT shows up. And so they go.
So far, it works & 4 Slider BOTS got dumped in less than 2 minutes. It is nearly perfect in function.

They were warned. But that's just life in the tech, forums & PC world.

edit: adding 36 keywords to code, coded to "find" 4 particular words in top tier of 9, & yer a BOT.
BOT means what?

Friday
The violent body slamming woman video and the other attacks on video at Popeye's has been viewed around 1.5 million times.
People are now becoming way more aware of "teens" "juveniles" etc etc and are talking and they're angry.

Oh well. I have a lot of fun ToDo's for today.
Rewriting list. Reading at World Socialist Web Site "news" https://www.wsws.org/
NO, I'm not Socialist. Can't help knowing those things, no, one can't be arrested for knowing stuff
Slow cooked Black Eye's Peas all night, making Johnny Reb's Cornbread recipe today.

Saturday
120 day stay of Nov 20th execution on the Bastrop, Texas case, on Friday evening, moved to Jan 20, 2020.
I think, it was stayed to prevent mass Civil Unrest. Gov't knows about the USA wide rallies.

All work and no Play. Now, I AM PLAYING! Creating new things, & more new memes.

Monday!

Bing[BOT} is only doing bot work gathering info from thread "Suppressed Info" here viewtopic.php?f=12&t=501
I've been watching it for days working in only certain threads. I wonder who is reading the BOT results? Someone does read those.

Sunday
Cut down a lot more shrubs and small trees. Butchered two of the turkeys. MrBeans decided he'd like to give the tom and two hens another go at having babies next year with a new incubator (both of ours had issues this year - one is super old from the 50's while the other is only a few years old).

Monday
Thanksgiving preparations - preparing the house for 8 guests and crafty things for the back drop for the large family photos we will be taking this weekend.
Dad wasn't feeling well so we didn't complete the home security business yesterday as planned. Have discovered two minor issues that will require some adjustments though after we get the final bit up and running.

Tuesday - today
Today is shopping day. It will take up most of my day between the shopping and the putting away (not to mention the taking and picking up of Bean8 at college during the whole biz). I'll work on adding leaves to the bio-reactor until the daylight is gone when I get back, then I'll work on more crafty things after supper.

Hi! I'm new here, so this is only my second post.

Part of my prepping is personal health, and I just found an interesting doctor who has extensive lectures and interviews of YouTube and ITunes about joint health (Dr. John Bergman). I have several joint issues, and I just downloaded a bunch of podcasts to listen to as I drive. The gist is, the body shouldn't "wear out"... it's self-healing, and WANTS to heal... we just need to figure out how to make that happen! That's the hard part :)

Pills and procedures might be in short supply someday soon.

Friday?
Researched BS, worked on written papers.
Reminded myself how fallacies work to fool people.
I laughed my azz off, here and there.
My cat meows ALL the time at me, all day.
Getting Prep Buy list & prepping ToDo List updated.
Helped a friend get a new DVD player hooked up, had to order online @ $6.99 an odd 3RCA-Male to USB cable adapter, in stores locally is $29 to $70 at BestBuy, that is called "upselling" by not having cheaper yet good items needed.
Reevaluating my projects, tryna organize ToDo List in steps.
Project buy list updates to do.

Looking at ordering more Heirloom Seeds for The Kid. He's reading Anita Bailey's COLD TIMES now. He said it's "interesting" :o
I'd really like to get them all onboard now, rather than later. There will be a turning point and large groups of people who won't know what hit them, until it does. It's very hard to watch unfold, right now it seems to be moving faster in a bad way.
Christian's latest 2 videos has really spelt it out good.
I had to laugh, HIT THE FAN, he titled it without using the S word

Ah well, carry on!
